The Vigilis Shrub Shelter is a wide-diameter, rigid shrub protection guard designed to protect newly planted shrubs, multi-stemmed plants and larger broadleaf transplants from browsing animals. With a generous 130–160mm diameter, this 60cm-high shrub shelter provides more growing space than traditional narrow tree shelters, making it particularly suitable for plants with a wider or multi-stemmed growth habit. It provides effective protection against rabbit and hare browsing while helping newly established shrubs develop securely.
Manufactured from UV-stabilised, photodegradable polypropylene, the Vigilis Shrub Shelter features a twin-walled cylindrical construction designed to provide strength and durability while remaining practical to handle and install. The wrap design allows the shelter to be opened for quick installation around an existing plant and removed easily when protection is no longer required. A break line helps prevent strangulation as plants develop, while the flared rim is designed to minimise abrasion against stems and foliage.
The Vigilis Shrub Shelter is also designed with sustainability in mind. It contains up to 30% post-consumer recycled polypropylene, reducing the amount of virgin plastic used in manufacture, and is fully recyclable at the end of its useful life when collected. UV stabilisation provides a minimum lifespan of 6+ years, making it a durable choice for farms, estates, landscaping projects, habitat creation, hedgerow schemes, rewilding and environmental planting where larger shrubs and broadleaf plants require additional protection.

The Vigilis Shrub Shelter features a wrap-around design, allowing it to be opened and positioned around a newly planted shrub or larger broadleaf transplant without requiring the plant to be fed through the shelter from above.
Once positioned around the plant, close the wrap and secure it using the pre-fitted releasable cable tie. The wide diameter should provide sufficient room for multi-stemmed shrubs and plants with a naturally spreading growth habit.
For exposed sites, ensure the shelter is securely supported using an appropriate stake or support system suitable for the planting conditions.
The wide design provides room for shrubs and multi-stemmed plants to develop without the restrictive fit associated with narrower tree shelters. Nevertheless, planting areas should be inspected regularly to ensure the shelter remains secure and that the developing plant has sufficient space to grow.
The releasable cable tie allows the shelter to be opened when carrying out tree or shrub maintenance and makes removal straightforward once the protection is no longer required.
Before installation, store the shelters upright, undercover and in dry conditions away from direct sunlight. Do not place heavy objects on top of stored shelters.
