GT PP50 50mm Heavy-Duty Ground Reinforcement Grid is a robust, permeable paving and ground stabilisation system designed for demanding trafficking applications where a strong, hard-wearing and free-draining surface is required. At 50mm deep, PP50 provides increased structural depth for areas exposed to regular vehicle movements, making it suitable for commercial car parks, heavily used access routes, emergency vehicle access, permeable driveways and other high-traffic applications. Each square metre comprises three interlocking 580 x 580 x 50mm grids, creating a continuous reinforced surface that is straightforward to handle and install.
Manufactured from 100% recycled, UV-stabilised plastic, PP50 can be filled with either grass or gravel to create a permeable finished surface. Its open-cell construction provides space for unrestricted grass root growth while allowing water, air and nutrients to move through the surface. For gravel applications, PP50 is designed for 5–20mm mixed sharp angular aggregate, which interlocks within the cells to provide excellent gravel retention and help resist dynamic and lateral vehicle loads.
With a stated filled load-bearing capacity of up to 500 tonnes per m²*, GT PP50 is suitable for a wide range of demanding domestic and commercial ground reinforcement projects when installed using an appropriate construction profile and on suitable subgrade conditions. PP50 can be used to create a reinforced grass surface where a natural green finish is required. The open-cell structure provides space for grass roots to establish and spread through the grid, while allowing water, air and nutrients to reach the rootzone.
The grid provides additional structural reinforcement to the finished grass surface, making it suitable for areas where grass is expected to experience regular pedestrian or vehicle traffic.
GT PP50 is particularly well suited to gravel reinforcement applications. The 50mm-deep cellular structure retains aggregate within individual cells, helping reduce gravel migration, movement and displacement beneath repeated vehicle traffic.
For optimum performance, use mixed sharp angular aggregate between 5–20mm. The angular shape allows the gravel to interlock effectively within the cells and helps the reinforced surface resist dynamic and lateral loads.
This makes PP50 suitable for gravel driveways, car parks, access routes and other areas where a stable, attractive and lower-maintenance gravel surface is required.
