The Vigilis Wrap is a flexible, spiral-form hedge protection guard designed to protect newly planted hedgerow trees and shrubs from browsing animals while allowing the plant to naturally expand as it grows. Its innovative wrap-around design removes the need for periodic adjustment, helping prevent the protection from restricting or damaging developing stems. Manufactured from UV-stabilised polypropylene with up to 30% post-consumer recycled material, the Vigilis Wrap provides a practical and sustainable solution for professional hedgerow planting and countryside management.
Available in 40cm, 60cm and 75cm heights, the Vigilis Wrap provides protection against rabbits and hares and is particularly suited to hedgerow restoration, new hedge planting, field boundary planting, farm diversification and environmental planting schemes. The wrap design makes installation and removal quick and straightforward, while the twin-wall construction provides a strong yet lightweight protective barrier around young plants. The Vigilis Wrap is designed for quick and straightforward installation around newly planted hedgerow plants.
When installing, open the wrap and place the inner fold on the outside when closing the wrap. This helps maintain the intended diameter around the plant. For additional security, particularly in exposed or windy locations, use a suitable cable tie or T-band around the middle of the wrap to prevent it from opening.
The spiral design allows the wrap to expand naturally as the hedge plant grows, reducing the need for regular adjustment and helping avoid damage or restriction to the developing stem.
The expanding wrap design reduces the amount of routine adjustment required as plants increase in diameter. However, planting areas should still be inspected periodically to check that the hedge guard, plant and fixing remain secure and that healthy growth is taking place.
When the protection is no longer required, the wrap can be opened and removed from the plant. Used Vigilis Wraps should be collected and directed into the appropriate recycling stream in accordance with local recycling arrangements.
Before installation, store the wraps upright, undercover and in dry conditions away from direct sunlight. Do not place heavy objects on top of stored wraps.
