Product Description
Enhance sustainable drainage schemes with Wildflower SuDS Matting Turf, a specialist ready-to-lay wildflower turf developed specifically for Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SuDS). Designed to improve water infiltration, reduce surface water runoff, and support biodiversity, this innovative turf provides an attractive and practical solution for modern water management projects.
Containing a carefully balanced mix of 37 wildflower and grass species, with a 50% wildflower and 50% grass composition, this turf is engineered to thrive in environments subject to fluctuating moisture levels. It performs exceptionally well in rain gardens, swales, attenuation basins, and other drainage features, tolerating both temporary flooding and extended dry periods. The extensive root structure helps break up compacted soils, improve infiltration rates, and promote healthier soil conditions.
Flowering from March through September, Wildflower SuDS Matting Turf delivers long-lasting seasonal interest while supporting pollinators, birds, mammals, and beneficial insects. Suitable for projects ranging from small residential developments to large-scale commercial and infrastructure schemes, it offers rapid establishment, low maintenance requirements, and long-term environmental benefits.

Watering & Establishment
- Water thoroughly after laying if conditions are dry.
- Maintain adequate moisture during the establishment period.
- Once established, watering is only required during prolonged dry weather.
- Designed to tolerate temporary flooding and fluctuating moisture levels.
- Avoid heavy foot traffic until fully rooted.
Maintenance
- Typically requires just one cut per year.
- Cut at the end of the growing season.
- Remove all cuttings after mowing to maintain species diversity.
- Monitor and remove invasive weeds where necessary.
- Avoid excessive soil disturbance once established.
