  • + Product Description

Create attractive, strong and durable fencing with these green pressure treated half round timber fence rails, designed for agricultural, equestrian, domestic landscaping, gardens and visitor attractions. Manufactured from softwood timber, these rails are machine rounded and halved to create a traditional half-round profile that combines a natural appearance with practical strength. Their lightweight construction makes them straightforward to handle, position and install, making them a popular choice for a wide range of post and rail fencing applications.

These half round timber fence rails are pressure treated to UC3 specification to help protect against fungal decay, premature rotting and moisture-related deterioration, providing a durable solution for outdoor fencing. They can be fixed to rounded timber posts, half-round stakes or square-sawn timber posts, with the 1.8m and 3.66m rail lengths suitable for different fencing layouts and post spacing requirements. Multiple horizontal rails can also be installed to create a stronger and more secure boundary.

Available in a choice of lengths and diameters, these green half round rails are particularly well suited to agricultural fencing, equestrian fencing, paddocks, gardens, rural properties, visitor attractions and landscape projects. They can also be combined with stock fencing, welded wire mesh, rabbit fencing or other wire mesh products to help contain livestock and smaller animals or provide additional protection. The green treated finish gives the timber a natural appearance that will gradually fade as it weathers outdoors.

How Half Round Timber Rails Work

Half round rails are installed horizontally between suitable timber fence posts to create a traditional post and rail fence. The machine-rounded outer face provides the characteristic half-round appearance, while the flat rear face allows the rail to sit neatly against suitable posts or stakes.

The 1.8m rails can be used for shorter fencing runs and more compact installations, while the 3.66m rails provide longer spans for agricultural, equestrian and larger landscape projects. Multiple rails can be positioned at different heights to create the desired level of boundary definition and containment.

For additional animal control or protection, the timber rails can be used alongside stock fencing, rabbit fencing, welded wire mesh or other wire fencing products.

    Pressure Treatment & Durability

The timber is UC3 pressure treated, helping protect the softwood against fungal decay, premature rotting and moisture-related deterioration in outdoor applications.

The green treatment gives the rails their initial green appearance. As with other natural timber products, the colour will gradually fade and weather when exposed to outdoor conditions.

    Installation Guidance

Before installation, plan the fence line and determine the required post positions according to the selected rail length and fencing design. Install suitable timber posts securely into the ground before positioning the half round rails horizontally.

The rails can be fixed to round posts, half-round stakes or square-sawn timber posts using suitable outdoor-rated timber fencing fixings. For taller or more secure boundaries, multiple rails can be installed at appropriate heights. Where additional containment is required, combine the timber framework with suitable wire mesh or stock fencing.

Always ensure posts and fixings are suitable for the intended application and ground conditions.
