The 75mm x 75mm square mesh aperture is well suited to larger gabion stone, decorative rock and cobbles, allowing efficient filling while creating a strong and stable structure. Gabion baskets provide a strong welded steel framework that is assembled and filled with suitable stone or aggregate. Once filled, the combined weight of the stone and rigid steel mesh creates a stable structure suitable for retaining, erosion control and landscaping applications.
The open 75mm x 75mm mesh allows water to pass through the filled basket, providing natural drainage and helping to reduce hydrostatic pressure that can build up behind retaining structures. Individual baskets can also be joined together to create longer walls, tiered retaining structures, boundaries and bespoke landscape features.
These baskets are manufactured using 4mm (8 Gauge) steel wire, providing a robust welded mesh structure for demanding applications. The welded construction helps the assembled basket retain its shape during filling and provides a strong framework for stone-filled walls and structures.
