  • + Product Description

These 12 Gauge Galvanised Welded Wire Mesh Rolls provide a strong, durable and versatile solution for fencing, animal enclosures, security, garden and agricultural applications. Manufactured from steel and hot-dip galvanised after welding, the mesh benefits from a protective zinc coating that helps resist corrosion and rust, making it suitable for a wide range of outdoor projects.

The 12 Gauge wire is approximately 2.5mm thick, providing a substantially stronger and heavier-duty option than finer 19 Gauge welded mesh. Each mesh joint is welded to create a rigid and stable structure, making these rolls suitable for applications where increased strength, durability and security are required.

The 50mm x 50mm (2" x 2") aperture provides a useful balance between containment, visibility and material coverage. This makes the mesh suitable for dog fencing, larger animal enclosures, deer fencing, security fencing, garden projects, agricultural applications and general-purpose outdoor structures.

Supplied in convenient rolls, the mesh can be transported, handled and installed with ease. Simply unroll and cut to the required length, allowing the material to be adapted to fencing, enclosures and fabricated mesh structures of different sizes. With roll heights from 0.9m to 2.4m, the range provides options for smaller fencing projects through to taller, larger-scale installations.

    • Security fencing
    • Agricultural fencing
    • Dog fencing
    • Deer fencing
    • Larger animal fencing

    Heavy-Duty 12 Gauge Construction

The 12 Gauge steel wire is approximately 2.5mm thick, providing a stronger and more substantial mesh than the finer 19 Gauge option.

The welded construction provides rigidity and stability, with every mesh intersection welded to create a secure and consistent structure. This makes the rolls particularly suitable for fencing and enclosure projects where a stronger wire mesh is required.

    Wire Gauge Guide

Wire gauge refers to the diameter or thickness of the wire. The higher the gauge number, the thinner the wire.

    • 12 Gauge – approx. 2.5mm
    • 14 Gauge – approx. 2.0mm
    • 15 Gauge – approx. 1.8mm
    • 18 Gauge – approx. 1.2mm
    • 19 Gauge – approx. 1.0mm

The 12 Gauge, 2.5mm wire used in these rolls provides a heavier-duty option for applications where increased strength and durability are required.

    50mm x 50mm Mesh Aperture

    All variants in this range feature a 50mm x 50mm (2" x 2") square aperture.

This aperture provides a practical balance between mesh coverage, visibility and containment. It is suitable for applications including:

    • Dog fencing
    • Deer fencing
    • Larger animal enclosures
    • Security fencing
    • Garden fencing
    • Agricultural fencing
    • General-purpose mesh enclosures
    • Fabricated cages and frames

The 50mm aperture also allows good visibility through the mesh while maintaining the rigid welded structure.

    Galvanised After Welding

The mesh is hot-dip galvanised after welding, providing a protective zinc coating over the steel and welded joints. This helps protect the mesh against moisture, corrosion and rust and makes it suitable for many outdoor fencing and enclosure applications.

Galvanising after welding also provides protective coverage across the welded joins, helping improve the mesh's resistance to outdoor weathering.

    Cutting the Mesh

When the roll is cut, newly exposed steel at the cut edge may be more susceptible to corrosion. For demanding or long-term outdoor installations, protect cut ends with galvanising spray or suitable metal paint after cutting.

    Roll Format for Flexible Installation

The roll format makes this welded wire mesh easy to transport and handle compared with large rigid panels. The mesh can be unrolled along a fence line or enclosure and cut to the required length.

For timber posts and frames, use suitable galvanised U-nails, staples or other appropriate fixings. For compatible steel structures, the mesh can be secured using suitable mechanical fixings or welded where appropriate.

    Installation Guidance

    1. Measure the area and determine the required fencing or enclosure height.
    2. Install suitable timber or metal posts at appropriate intervals.
    3. Unroll the welded wire mesh along the required line.
    4. Cut the mesh to the required length using suitable mesh-cutting tools.
    5. Position the mesh against the supporting posts or frame.
    6. Secure the mesh using suitable galvanised fixings.
    7. Where required, join adjoining sections securely.
    8. Check the completed installation for stability.
    9. Protect exposed cut ends with galvanising spray or suitable metal paint where additional corrosion protection is required.

Choose posts, fixings and supporting structures appropriate for the intended application.
