  • + Product Description

Non-Woven Geotextile is a versatile 100gsm polypropylene geotextile membrane designed for ground separation, filtration and stabilisation across landscaping, construction, drainage and civil engineering applications. Installed between soil, sub-base and aggregate, the permeable membrane helps prevent different materials from mixing together while allowing water to pass through. This makes it a practical solution for improving the stability and long-term performance of gravel driveways, paving, car parks, drainage systems and other constructed ground surfaces.

Manufactured from 100% polypropylene using a thermally bonded, needle-punched construction, this white non-woven geotextile provides a reliable separation and filtration layer. Its 8kN/m tensile strength makes it suitable for a wide range of domestic, commercial and civil engineering projects. By helping maintain separation between different ground layers, the membrane can reduce aggregate migration and help minimise problems such as sinking, rutting and surface collapse.

Available in several roll sizes, Non-Woven Geotextile is suitable for both smaller garden and landscaping projects and larger construction applications. It can be installed beneath gravel, paving and other aggregate surfaces, as well as being used for land drains, soakaway crates, SuDS systems, attenuation systems and general ground stabilisation. For suitable projects, effective separation can also help reduce the amount of sub-base material required, potentially reducing overall material and installation costs.

    How Non-Woven Geotextile Works

Non-Woven Geotextile is installed as a separation layer between different materials within a constructed ground profile. Its permeable structure allows water to pass through while helping prevent finer soil particles from migrating into the aggregate or sub-base.

This separation helps individual layers retain their intended properties and can improve the stability of the finished surface. On gravel driveways and paths, for example, the membrane helps prevent the surface aggregate from becoming mixed with the underlying soil or sub-base, helping maintain a cleaner and more stable construction.

The membrane can also be used for filtration and drainage applications where water needs to pass through the geotextile while limiting the movement of surrounding soil particles.

    Sizes Available

    Roll Size Coverage
    1m x 10m 10m²
    2m x 25m 50m²
    2m x 50m 100m²
    4m x 11.25m 45m²

The range provides options for smaller domestic landscaping jobs through to larger commercial and construction projects.

    Installation Guidance

For ground stabilisation and separation applications, prepare the area by removing unsuitable material and creating a suitable, level formation. Lay the geotextile over the prepared ground, ensuring sufficient coverage across the required area.

Where multiple sections are required, the membrane should be appropriately overlapped to maintain continuous separation between the ground layers. Place the selected aggregate, sub-base or other surface material carefully over the membrane to avoid unnecessary displacement or damage.

The exact installation method, overlap requirements and specification of the supporting ground layers should be determined according to the requirements of the individual project.
