GR10 10mm Grass Reinforcement Mesh

GT Grass Reinforcement Mesh GR10 is a strong, permanent 10mm grass reinforcement mesh designed to protect existing grass areas from wear, rutting, mud and surface damage caused by smaller vehicles and frequent pedestrian traffic. Manufactured from UV-stabilised high-density polyethylene (HDPE), the oscillated mesh structure reinforces the ground while allowing grass to grow through and become established within the mesh. Once the grass has grown through, the mesh can become visually unobtrusive, helping retain a natural green appearance.

GR10 grass reinforcement mesh is ideal for grass driveways, grass parking areas, overflow parking, grass verges, pedestrian pathways, access routes and wheelchair-friendly grass areas where a reinforced surface is required without resorting to conventional impermeable paving. It can be installed directly over a suitable, existing and stable grass surface, making installation relatively quick and cost-effective with no requirement for extensive excavation or soil removal.

Installation Guidance

GR10 is designed to be installed over a suitable existing, stable and free-draining grass surface. Prepare the area before rolling out the mesh, ensuring the ground is reasonably even and suitable for reinforcement. Secure the mesh firmly using suitable steel U-pins, such as 170mm x 70mm x 6mm diameter U-pins, to prevent movement during establishment.

It is important to allow the grass to grow through the mesh and become properly established before the area is subjected to regular traffic. As a general guide, the grass should have been mown at least two to three times before the reinforced area is brought into use. Early trafficking can damage the developing grass and reduce the effectiveness of the reinforcement system.

The finished performance of grass reinforcement mesh depends on factors including ground conditions, soil type, drainage, traffic frequency, vehicle type and correct installation. GR10 is best suited to existing grass areas that are stable and free draining.
